First Holy Communion Portraits
The First Holy Communion Day is such a special milestone in your Child's life.
To be honest I never really understood the fuss until I experienced Joseph's, and now understand what a special day it is to celebrate your child.
In our busy world we don't stop enough to appreciate all that we have and what is really important to us. The First Holy communion is the perfect excuse to get a portrait, if you are like most others, something you have meaning to do for years! My style of work is natural and relaxed, I like to take a mixed of posed and candid in a photo session, with the aim of capturing my model's in their own true light.
A First Holy communion portrait can include individual portraits and also family portraits (I always like to encourage the parents/guardians to get involved!).
Over the years I have captured many children at this stage, it is a lovely age when they are just developing their own unique personality.
What is the difference between an outdoor or studio session?
Depending on your taste, a studio portrait is great for a more formal portrait, giving a nice clean background and artificially lit. An outdoor location session will give a more natural portrait, with softer light and ideally using a lovely backdrop of nature (I personally love amongst trees!).
Do you have to be done on the same day as the First Holy Communion?
Definitely not! As lovely as it is to have the photos taken on the day, a lot of families find it useful to have them taken days before or after the event. Also another excuse to get them into their lovely outfits, and get a time and date that suits you all best.
Do I get to pick my own favourites from the shoot?
Yes you get your own personal viewing gallery from all the photos taken on the session, already edited and you can pick and choose your favourites.
How do I book a session for my child?
There are a few schools I am familiar with which I can arrange mini-sessions based on multiple bookings on the same day. However, I emphasise that I never like to rush a photo session as I like to allow enough time to get a portrait that I am happy with so it works best to have time slots and advanced booked with limited numbers
You can also book your own private home/ location /studio session for your Childs portraits, we can work through what would work best for your family. This can be a great excuse to get portraits of other family members and in a location that suits you.
