Blanaid & Steven’s wedding day, the Merchant Hotel, Belfast.
I got a phonecall from Blanaid in early Summer as her and Steven walked through the Cathedral Quarter in Belfast asking if I could hold a date in a few weeks as they had just been to the Merchant and were committed to making their wedding happen within a few weeks- and as you can see by the photos they succeeded & also excelled themselves!
I was also delighted to have the date free as I first met Blanaid when I did her sister Aoife’s wedding photographs & it knew it was one I wouldn’t want to miss.
This was a day filled with so much love, the love of family getting together, of good friends so happy to be celebrating together and of course a beautiful couple who look like they were starring in a hit romantic movie.
The city of Belfast, where Blanaid spent her student days, made the perfect setting for a fun day of photographing. They had their wedding ceremony at Queen’s chapel & we made our way to Botanic gardens after for a go on the Big Wheel.
We made our way back to the Merchant Hotel to find the Omagh band Knotty Pine had the party going full swing, and the smaller numbers made it such an intimate gathering of family & friends.
The couple had their first dance on the rooftop at the Merchant hotel as the sun made a glorious spectacle in the background as it set on this beautiful day.
