Frequently Asked Questions - Newborn Photography
When should I book?
It is advisable to give me a call 3 months before your due date so that I can pencil in an approximate date (I understand this can change!). To get the best from your newborn session it is best done in the first 10 days so if you book in advance I can ensure that I can fit you on for this exciting stage.
How long will the session take?
Sessions usually last between 1 to 2 hours, depending on the baby's mood. I understand that the baby's form can be unpredictable and there is no way to guarantee that the baby will play ball so we leave time just incase!
What should I bring with me?
I like to do Newborn photo sessions in a classic and timeless theme. I think with newborn photography, less is more. The new baby is the central feature and I don't feel the need to have to make a fussy photograph to take the focus of the baby. I have blankets, headbands and baskets to work with so if you have any personal props that you would like included feel free to bring them along. Some people like to bring some special toys and blankets, maybe something that a friend has knitted especially.
What do I get with my Newborn Package?
You will get your relaxed photo session (in studio or in your own home and a set of 10 10x8''mounted prints of your selected favourites for the investment of £225.
Will I get into the photos or other family members?
I would very strongly advise for the parents to get involved and be in the photographs. My biggest regret is that I never got any photographs of me with Joseph when he was a baby. Some mothers use the excuse that they don't feel good about themselves after birth but believe me just do it!! I also love to see the high brothers and sisters interact with their new sibling and its an important time to capture this new relationship!
